Rolled Again With Justin

He's getting better.. Almost got me in a foot lock.. Had to get out quick. My mouthguard was gross.. I'd better soak it in Listerine all night.. Next time we are going to start some MMA type fighting. It's time to kick da booty...

Rolled with Justin yesterday!!!

Good times.. Every time I teach a move or an idea, I further cement that idea in my own mind.  Justing is quickly improving but also going through the pains and frustrations of being a newbie.  I remember how insane I was in the beginning.  I came home with many bumps and bruises at first because I'd spaz out and try wayyyyy to hard.  The secret to Jiu Jitsu is, there's no secret.  YOu have to go through those learning phases.

Going to Start My Standup Career Again

Not comedy but kickboxing.  My sparring partner Justin and I are going to do up some stand up fighting on the weekends.  He just has to get some pads and I'll teach him all I know.  He's done boxing so he will do jut fine.  I have to get my cardio up for it though.

Here's me at age 10 sparring with my cousin

Brandon Lee, What a guy..

I guess I can relate to him being half asian and all but it's more than that.  This guy had it together.  He could have easily just been a total slacker and rode his dads coattails to the end but he didn't.  He seemed like a very hard working, caring, intelligent, centered being.  I'll never forget how the movie 'The Crow" impacted me at a very impressionable age.  I know if he were still alive today he'd be hard at work studying MMA.  After all, that's what Jeet Kune Do really is.

UPdate time

So I've been away from Warrior's Cove for some time now.  I miss it.  I do however have very little time to dedicate to a martial arts schedule.  I mostly now train with Josh over at Focus and I set up a mat at Pitchfever.  Last week I rolled with my friend Justin.  It was fun..  I finally got to videotape myself doing Jiu Jitsu.  I learned a lot from watching it.  I'm 100% healthy now.  My knee has healed and I feel like I could compete with anyone and put up a good fight.  After watching Cung Le kick so much butt, I believe I would do fine if I had to battle.  We both have similar stances, kicks, and defense.  I'm not sure how good his BJJ is but I'm sure he can handle himself on the ground if he had to.  Congrats on the win Cung..
